STEP Ahead Winners from Minnesota

The Manufacturing Institute has announced the 2016 STEP Ahead Award Honorees and Emerging Leaders.
These women have accomplished success within their companies and have proven to be leaders in the industry as a whole. This year, the Institute also has chosen to recognize a select few for the Emerging Leaders category – representing young women who are the future of the industry and have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments at just the beginning of their careers. Help Build Mechatronics Apprenticeship Program

Are you ready to build a mechatronics apprenticeship program? Then come and hear about this proposal during a conversation facilitated by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry and Buhler Inc. on Monday, July 18, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at Buhler Inc., 13105 12th Ave., N., Plymouth.

    of mechatronics
  • Sharing technical related instruction with Buhler Inc.
  • How your company can meet your own specific on-the-job training needs
  • Funding that is available to support the development of mechatronics registered apprenticeship programs

Mechatronics technicians require electrical, mechanical, and computer skills necessary to work on complex systems found in manufacturing environments. They work with basic electricity, fluid mechanics, mechanical drives, instrumentation, motor control, and tasks specific to electrical, mechanical, and control specialties.


Three Petroleum Distributors Join Forces

Three of the Midwest’s largest petroleum distributors, Boyer Petroleum (Des Moines, Iowa), Moore Oil Company (Milwaukee, Wis.), and the distribution arm of Lubrication Technologies Inc. (Saint Paul), have entered into a merger to form Lube-Tech & Partners, LLC.

Under this merger, the new company’s 200 combined employees will provide over 20 million gallons of lubricants and chemicals, as well as a broad portfolio of products and services to over 7,000 customers throughout the Upper Midwest. Lube-Tech & Partners, LLC’s primary geographic service coverage will include Minnesota, Wisconsin, northern Illinois, Iowa and eastern North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska.

Lube-Tech & Partners, LLC customers will continue to receive local support from the teams they know and trust, and can expect expanded product and service offerings in the future. The company remains committed to delivering “peace of mind” to its customers by providing solutions that help them improve performance and their bottom-line through lubrication customization, consultative support, and one-stop shopping for equipment, cleaning, recycling services, and energy solutions.
